Accessibility statement
This statement applies to the Moodle site learn.info.inasp .
We have developed the Moodle site to be as usable by everyone as possible, regardless of location, internet bandwidth, or disability. More accessible sites load quicker on lower bandwidths. More accessible learning content is better for all learners.
We are aiming to comply with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2. Level AA. However, the website is not currently compatible.
The site is run by INASP. You should be able to:
- Navigate with a mouse or screen reader
- Increase font size and zoom in or out
- Navigate mainly using headings
- Access captions and limited transcripts for video or audio
- Navigate through assistive tech using ARIA functionality
We don’t build in accessibility overlays, as we think that accessibility should be designed into site code.
If you would like more information about making your device easier to use, AbilityNet have useful guides.
We conducted accessibility tests manually and with the tools Webaim WAVE and Bookmarklet for colour contrast testing. However, we did not enable Brickfield’s accessibility toolkit due to impact on performance speeds.
Current accessibility
There are some limitations to the site currently and workarounds.
- Embedded videos without transcripts, that require the learner to open the video in Youtube to access the transcript
- Some videos have automated transcripts which might not be accurate
- Videos are not audio described
- Some courses include drag and drop activities which have a low margin for error, which are being replaced with fill in the blank activities instead
- Older images might be missing alternative text
- Older documents whether Word or PDF might be missing navigation
- Some text and hyperlinks are difficult to perceive on blue or grey backgrounds in elements like surveys, or in H5P books the font size is hard to change
- Some feedback for quizzes is hard to perceive due to the colour contrast
- Bootstrap elements including boxes and buttons might be missing ARIA elements
You can find out more about Moodle’s out of the box accessibility in their site conformance report and for the app.
Feedback
We appreciate any feedback you have about what would make the site more accessible and usable to you.
Each course includes a feedback survey where you can detail any accessibility challenges you have encountered.

Non-accessible content
- Some older courses included time limits for quizzes
- Some interactive H5P elements might include motion and could induce motion sickness
- The next version of Moodle 5.1 will include a CAPTCHA for the forgotten password page
Future improvement
- We are improving colour contrast for quizzes and activities
- We will continue manual testing of the site and app
- We are look to roll out the dark mode plugin to make the site more flexible.
